Campaign Update

Armed with a vision to create a stronger New Hampshire and a greater America; I entered my name, Elizabeth Girard, as a candidate for New Hampshire's First Congressional District.

Raised on the belief you can do anything you put your mind to through hard work and perseverance, and based on the idea that the greatest gift we can hand the next generation is an America where the American Dream is alive, affordable, and within reach for all – I declared my candidacy.

Proud to stand with the New Hampshire Republican Party that I've admired since I was a little girl, a college student and now a young, independent woman.

Members of our party had a different idea for my political career.

Obstacles difficult for any candidate to navigate were continually placed in my path, at times causing concern for the safety of myself and my family. Hurdles were amplified by those united to see me fail and strengthened by those who looked away.

I turned to the leadership in our party for resolution.

Instead, received words young women should never have to hear, facing situations women should never have to encounter. This isn't the New Hampshire Republican Party the Granite State deserves.

I decided long ago to be a voice for those who feel unheard, unseen or forgotten.

Passionate about inspiring hope for women, children, veterans, the next generation, and all Granite Staters. I am proud of who I am: a daughter, sister, niece and cousin with strong convictions and beliefs, boldly speaking up for who and what I believe in.

Thank you, New Hampshire, for the opportunity to run.

I listened and learned, inspired by the Granite Staters who courageously shared their stories and welcomed me into their lives.

To those who supported my campaign – thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I have been humbled.

I withdraw my name as a candidate for New Hampshire's First Congressional District.

God Bless New Hampshire and God Bless the United States of America.
